Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer – North East
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Company Vehicle + Travel Time + Overtime + Benefits
Location: Covering the North East (Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough and surrounding areas)
We’re representing a respected fire safety solutions provider with a strong presence in the North of England. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to recruit a skilled Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to support a range of commercial, healthcare, and industrial projects across the North East.
The Role: You’ll be responsible for the commissioning, programming, and handover of fire alarm systems to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards. This is a field-based role, requiring a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning addressable and conventional fire alarm systems across a variety of sites
- Programming fire panels and integrating with other life safety systems where required
- Ensuring systems are compliant with BS 5839 and other relevant standards
- Providing technical support and guidance to clients and site teams
- Completing commissioning sheets, test records, and handover documentation
- Liaising with project managers and installation engineers to ensure smooth project delivery
Requirements:
- Experience commissioning fire detection systems, ideally with knowledge of panels such as Advanced, Kentec, Morley, C-Tec
- Strong understanding of BS 5839 and relevant fire safety regulations
- FIA units or equivalent qualifications are desirable
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system designs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a high standard of documentation
- Full UK driving licence
